Grace :
The unmerited favor of God.
The Joshua chapter we read as our text for today's message tells us how Rahab the prostitute and her entire family were saved from destruction when Joshua led the children of Israel to Jericho .
Rahab saved the lives of the spies that Joshua sent to the city , because when the spies got to the city they were recognised and sought after but the prostitute kept them away from being captured .
The prostitute got assurance from the spies that for the singular act of saving their lives, that definitely they will reciprocate same by saving her life and that of every members of her family , grace located her and through her, all family members under her roof also partake of the grace .
No matter how heavy your sin is, if you can confess the Lord Almighty as your saviour , as your deliverer, and you know only through Him you are save, He will surely save you .
Rahab did acknowledge the Almighty God of isreal and all He has done, Joshua 2 : 11.
The widow of zarephath had flour and oil to make just one last meal , her plan was to lock herself and her child in the house till they die because their was severe famine in the land , but God moved prophet Elijah up to go the city and look for the woman so that He can manifest His greatness and let the world who He is, the widow found unmerited favour in God sight among all the women in the town ,
God grace located her and her family for supernatural miracles till it started raining again in the town . 1 king 17 : 7 - 15 .
Conclusion;
Let us keep faith with God no matter how our circumstances is , we should always strive to do the right thing to please God, without us taking chances about our salvation ,
Rahab saved the spies sent by Joshua because she knew they are messengers of God , she defiled the king's order to give them up knowing fully well the king may order her to death for helping the spies.
I pray that as the grace of God should locate us wherever we are and when it does , because of us our family will also enjoy in the Lord's grace that is upon us .
